This video takes us behind the scenes of the exclusive Ideal Block processing.

It all begins with the upper wrapped on the last and glued to the assembly insole.
At first, the nails are carefully removed in order to free the leather while leaving the lining anchored to the sole.
Now eveything is ready for our key process.

By stretching and smoothing the creases we find on the tip and heel areas, we pave the way for the next stage: the application of the leather insole.

The shoe is ready for the glueing.
With skilful gestures, the craftsman brushes the glue on the insole and pastes the upper onto it.

It's time for the welt rolling: using a special machine, the insole is attached to the upper while any excess leather is trimmed off along the lines of the last in order to ensure an impeccable result.

In the final stage of processing, leather and sole meet needle and thread. With attention and dedication the upper and the base of the shoe are stitched together to achieve a sturdy and long- lasting union.

Every processing step and every craftsman's gesture give rise to MOMA's Ideal Block: the act of birth of a timeless shoe.
