It all begins with the upper wrapped around the last and glued to the assembly insole.
First, the nails are carefully removed to free the leather while leaving the lining anchored to the sole.
Now everything is ready for our key process.
By stretching and smoothing the creases found on the toe and heel areas, we pave the way for the next stage: the application of the leather insole.
The shoe is ready for gluing.
With skillful movements, the craftsman brushes the glue onto the insole and pastes the upper onto it.
It's time for the welt rolling: using a special machine, the insole is attached to the upper while any excess leather is trimmed along the lines of the last to ensure an impeccable result.
In the final stage of the process, leather and sole meet needle and thread. With care and dedication, the upper and the base of the shoe are stitched together to create a sturdy, long-lasting bond.
Every step of the process and every movement of the craftsman gives rise to MOMA's Ideal Block: the birth of a timeless shoe.
